Organizations

On this page
An organization holds sites and the people who work on them. Everyone has a Personal organization, created with their sign-in. It holds the sites you add by default and is just yours: it has no admins, invitations or teams, and it can't be renamed, handed over or deleted.
Create an organization
Open the organization switcher in the top bar and choose Create organization. Self-hosted installs allow up to 10 per person unless you change TIDEMARK_ORGANIZATION_LIMIT. The Sites page, Organization and Teams in the sidebar follow the organization you picked. Sites other people share with you one by one are under Shared with me.
Owner and admins
| Role | Can do |
|---|---|
| Owner | Everything: rename the organization, name admins, hand it over, delete it (only once it has no sites) and, on Tidemark Cloud, manage its plan and billing. |
| Admin | See and change every site in the organization (not the owner's private rollups), add and delete sites, share sites with its teams and manage those teams. Admins can leave. |
Add admins under Organization. Admins are people, never teams.
Hand an organization to someone else
The owner can transfer ownership to one of its admins: type the organization's name to confirm, and the admin accepts within 72 hours. The previous owner stays on as an admin. On Tidemark Cloud the person who pays for Pro keeps paying until they cancel, and the new owner can start their own subscription.
On Tidemark Cloud
Your Personal organization stays on the free plan. Every other organization has its own plan: start Pro for it and it can hold unlimited sites. See Plans and limits.
