Invitations
Updated
When you add someone by e-mail to a site, a team or as an organization admin and they have no account yet, Tidemark sends an invitation instead.
- The link is single use and valid for 72 hours. After that the person has to be invited again.
- They choose a name and password; their e-mail counts as verified because they received the link. It works even when registration is closed.
- Nothing is created for them until they accept. Pending invitations appear in the People list with the time they expire, and can be resent or revoked.
- People who already have an account are added straight away and get a notification e-mail.
Self-hosted
Invitations are off by default. Set TIDEMARK_INVITES=true in .env; it needs working mail settings (see Email). Without it, only people who already have an account can be added. TIDEMARK_INVITE_HOURS changes the 72-hour window. Because the e-mail comes from your own server, the inviter must have a verified address, and there are daily and pending limits (TIDEMARK_INVITE_DAILY_LIMIT, TIDEMARK_INVITE_PENDING_LIMIT). Expired invitations are deleted daily.
On Tidemark Cloud invitations are on.
